Dementia Friends session being held for our office staff today. Kirsty, one of our employees has recently become a Dementia Friends Champion. She is holding her first session in the mission to get all of our staff aware of the Dementia Friends campaign and to sign them all up!
It is a great way to spread awareness about dementia, not just to staff who work with people who have dementia but to the friends and family of the individuals that have it. We will be supporting Kirsty and a new member of staff, Satya to deliver as many of these sessions as possible to spread the word locally about Dementia.
Kirsty, together with another member of our team, Sandie, are currently writing our own Dementia Awareness training sessions as well and we can't wait to get these up and running. We have many staff at Prime Care that are really passionate about providing the right care and support to people with dementia and by being able to tailor our training directly to the individuals we support should be of real benefit.
